the best Local Coffee Shops in nashville, tn

If you aren't going to visit us, here are some other ideas...

Are you looking for a place to get some work done, have a great conversation or just sip some coffee, travel in any direction
in the city of Nashville and you’ll no doubt happen upon a coffee shop within moments.
There’s a Starbucks every few miles, yes, (and you won’t ever hear me diss the Seattle born staple) but a crop of
Independently owned and interesting hot bean water establishments have also
taken up residence in music city and walk into any of them at different times of day
and you’ll likely see a crowd.

Here are a few of our favorite local coffee shops in Nashville, TN:

8th & Roast:

Serving Nashville since 2009, 8th & Roast has become a favorite among locals. The fact that you can usually find a parking spot helps, and when you enter the building, the brick walls, exposed piping, and heavenly roasting smell create a vibe that makes you want to stay for awhile.  And then there’s the actual coffee: It’s good. REALLY good. I don’t know why but it just is. Go find out for yourself.

Steadfast:

This Germantown gem is one of the prettiest on the list.   Light, minimalist décor and an outdoor patio make for a great place to enjoy one of their seasonal menu items as well as a beer and wine happy hour.   But the real reason people will bypass many others and drive across town to this location? Matchless Coffee Soda: It’s citrusy, it’s refreshing, it’s caffeinated, and it’s awesome.  Check it out.

Crema:

There’s a reason Crema is so popular and has earned multiple awards from the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA):  it’s amazing coffee. Partnering with coffee farmers from all over the world, you can also find Crema all over town, as they’ve taken up residence at Pinewood Social, and become the brew of choice for many of Nashville’s premiere bakeries and restaurants.  I recommend visiting the actual coffee shop on Hermitage Avenue downtown.  It’s hip, it’s busy, and has some great views of the city. Also, please don’t leave without trying the Avocado Toast.

Barista Parlor:

Now in 3 locations across the city, it’s easy to find one of the best pour over coffees anywhere.   Established in 2011, Barista Parlor does everything with quality, and in a creative, artistic space that makes your wait (and you will wait, as a brew this good takes time) seem less daunting. Having partnered with local artists, each location is an interesting place to wander, listen to music and pick up a unique gift.  The homemade pop tarts are another valid reason to pay a visit as well. https://baristaparlor.com/

Fido:

A longtime Nashville staple (and converted pet shop), there’s a reason there’s always a line out the door:  It’s cozy, it’s funky, and in addition to great coffee has a widely varied menu offering something for everyone.  Exposed brick and interesting local art make for a warm atmosphere and there are also great gift options, and the homemade desserts are a must!  Get in line.
